Meanwhile...

Reports of the Supernatural Asylum con is killing me over here. Great round ups of Misha's panel by [livejournal.com profile] tracy_loo_who here.

A select quote:

Okay, so apparently misha has read actual castiel porn and knows about slash. torn between intrigue and "eww"

Like I said to [livejournal.com profile] tracy_loo_who, that's exactly how you react to the Darwin-esque colony of micro-organisms growing at the back of a fridge. *facepalm*

While I'm on the subject of Misha Fucking Collins, a couple of quick recs:

This is not the RPS you're looking for... by [livejournal.com profile] elizah_jane.

Misha sighs. It is far too early in the morning and he still has to get dressed and get to the set. Not for the first time, he thinks it's unfortunate that the prerequisite to most of his world domination plans is putting on pants.

Starfleet is full of self-editors. by [livejournal.com profile] ethrosdemon [RPS/Star Trek: the Reboot]

When he tunes back in, Kirk and McCoy are both watching him. "You speak their language?" Kirk seems very interested.

"I was trapped with her in a bunker, what else was there to do?"

"You learned an alien language in
two weeks?" McCoy's datapad hangs from his hand at his side by two fingers.

"To be fair, I knew the syntax already."

Oh, and one last thing:

He has kind of single-handedly eaten the internet. The mishaland comm on lj terrifies me. I now know what RBR must have seemed like to outsiders. D:

But yes, there is brilliant trek crack!fic coming out. How good was the film?! There were classic cars! Motorcycles! Spaceships! Big space explosions! This is my four-year-old-boy lizard brain talking!

Methinks the whole world is in love with nuTrek.

That movie is crack. I'm in withdrawal because I haven't seen it this weekend. I've seen it every weekend since it came out, and it's agonizing to go this long without one viewing...D:

Argh. I've only seen it once, and that was enough to send me head over heels in love. It's just the most fun movie to watch. I'm addicted after only one viewing. *is jealous of your disposable income*

It was disposable income well spent, imo.

Oh god. I've waited so long for this movie to come out, and then in the first 10 minutes I was crying. Crying. Like, hi, you're a summer si-fi blockbuster-type film, you're not supposed to make me cry! And then the rest of the movie was all kickass and hot and all kinds of awesome.

Best excuse for lens flare EVER.

I was crying too! I was all: OH, HELL NO TEAR DUCTS. I NEVER CRY AT MOVIES, WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING GEARING UP FOR STAR TREK, HUH? PUNK?

*flails* It's. Just. So. Good.

*fails with you* Inorite?!

Seriously, this was exactly the kind of movie I've been waiting for my entire life. Not only is it an AU fanfic where the AU isn't set in high school or some other bullshit universe, but it's also the very best kind of AU fanfic - makes sense, kicks ass.

God, I was bowled over when Pike (too hot for his own good) made Spock the Enterprise's captain, and then Spock/Uhura! What a big FU to TOS! I loved it! And Kirk and Bones? GUH!

'nuff said.

BOOOOOOOOONES. ♥♥♥♥♥♥

See me? I've never even watched a single episode of Star trek; I had only a passing understanding of it, the kind that you glean from pop culture exposure.

AND NOW? I AM IN LUUUURVE.

I especially like just how fucked up both Spock and Kirk are. They're just so angry. They could totally detroy the universe if they wanted. This meta kind of says everything I would say about it if I could.

That might have been one of the greatest things I've ever read, dear fucking lord.

Augh, it's feeding the plot tribbles!

I was a very young fan of TNG (like 2-4YO) but kind of moved on until the weekend of my birthday. Seriously, of all the gifts I got that weekend the movie ticket to Star Trek was the greatest gift of all...and probably the cheapest, XD

Oh cultural osmosis. Teaches you everything you need to know without really knowing anything at all.

It's such good meta. *squishes it close*

nuTrek filled a hole in my life I never knew existed. I'm just wallowing in the brilliant outpouring of crack, icons, love, meta and macros that's been pumping out.

nuTrek filled the sci-fi genre that I was missing. I was seriously not interested in sci-fi because of all the technology and science involved, but then nuTrek happened, and I'm glomping every single fic being thrown my way. Idk why it took me so long to finally jump into the slash, but I've been reading every Kirk/McCoy fic in existence the past four weeks, and IT IS LOVE INCARNATE.

Kirk/McCoy for the win! Although I do tend to find myself shipping EVERYONE with EVERYONE. The Enterprise is the loveshack of the Federation. ;)

I've always adored sci-fi, but nothing had really grabbed me by the jugular lately, and then nuTrek came along and ... ♥

LOL seriously, while I tend to be extremely monogamous with my OTPs, it's hard not to ship everyone with everyone, BECAUSE EVERYONE IS SO HOT AND KICKASS AND AWESOME AND ALKSDJFLASKJFLASDJFSLDKF.
